Leivonmäki National Park
In one of the youngest National Park in Finland, you can experience the diversity of the natural features of Central Finland Region. In the wilderness-like landscape of Leivonmäki National Park, the hiking trails and duckboards are ideal for family day trips, because of their suitable length and because they are not too demanding. There are several campfire places in the area, some of which have shelters. The camping sites and lean-to shelters attract visitors to stay overnight in the National Park.
The National Park was established in the area of the former Haapasuo-Syysniemi nature reserve. Characteristic to the park are mires, shores and esker forests. In a relatively small area, there are valuable natural features in a diverse landscape. Especially protected areas are the large Haapasuo Mire, which is in its natural state, and the esker formation running through the area.
