Tiilikkajärvi National Park

Tiilikkajärvi National Park, located in Northern Savonia on the border of the municipalities of Rautavaara and Sotkamo, is known for the impressive sandy beaches of Lake Tiilikka — the most beautiful of which is Venäjänhiekka. Tiilikkajärvi is a versatile outdoor recreation destination offering year-round experiences.

The area is ecologically valuable as it lies in a transition zone between forest and mire types. Northern and southern natural features meet here in a unique blend. Wilderness-like ridges and aapa bogs, fringed with Sheathed Cottonsedge (Eriophorum vaginatum), form a landscape that enchants visitors with its tranquility and natural state.
