Raahe Museum

The Raahe Museum is the oldest museum of cultural history in Finland. It was founded in 1862 by doctor Carl Robert Ehrström, who was well known for his varied cultural interests.

The Raahe Museum comprises seven different museums, four of which are near the centre of Raahe.: The Packhouse, Crown Granary, The Old Pharmacy,  The Sovelius House,  The Saloinen and Ojala Museums and the Olkijoki Treaty Museum are located some 5–10 kilometres from the centre.

Perhaps the most famous artefact in the Raahe Museum, the world’s oldest surviving diving suit – the Old Gentleman – is now displayed in the diving section of the Crown Granary.
