Bothnian Sea National Park
The Bothnian Sea National Park, located on Finland’s southwest coast, protects underwater nature, cultural heritage, and supports recreation, education, and research.
Covering over 90,000 hectares, it is Finland’s largest marine protected area. Over 98% of its area is water, stretching 150 km from Kustavi to Merikarvia, including towns like Uusikaupunki, Rauma, and Pori.
Rauma’s Kylmäpihlaja, Kuuskajaskari, and nearby waters were added in 2015. The park is known for its rich underwater life, diverse bird species, and ever-changing islands due to land uplift. Visitors can explore by boat or hike scenic coastal trails.
