Juuvaara hiking trail

The Juuvaara hiking trail, located by Lake Juujärvi, offers stunning scenery for visitors to enjoy. Although the trail is only about 1 km long, it is quite challenging, with long poles installed to help hikers navigate the rocky sections. From the trail, you can take in breathtaking views of the Kemijoki River and the village of Juujärvi on the opposite bank. This area has been recognized as a nationally significant landscape since 2021.

To reach the trail, start in Kemijärvi and head south on Luusuantie (Luusua road) for approximately 40.4 km toward Juujärvi village. Just before reaching the village, turn left onto Seitakorventie (toward the Seitakorven power plant) and drive 1.6 km. Then, turn right and continue for 1.1 km. The trailhead will be on your left.
