Keisarintalli stable
Beside the village road in Paltaniemi and right next to the church is a small stable in which the Russian Tsar Alexander I is said to have enjoyed breakfast on his visit to Kainuu in 1819. The stable was moved to its current location from Vuolijoki, where the actual event took place. Keisarintalli is open throughout the summer. The stable houses the original furniture used for the tsar’s visit, and you can even sit in the same place where he ate breakfast.
