Kustavi Museum

Kustavi Museum is located on the old postal route, in Etelä-Vartsala. The museum exhibition displays traditional peasant life in Kustavi, especially fishing and seafaring. There is also a room dedicated to the author, Volter Kilpi. Every Midsummer Eve, a traditional Midsummer pole is erected on top of a rock next to the museum.

The museum’s collection consists of objects and documents collected and donated from the Kustavi area, which tell about the life and livelihood of the area in the past. On display are goods brought by sailors from their voyages, as well as tools and other artefacts related to the everyday life of the archipelago.

The museum is open during the summer, from midsummer to the end of August. At other times, guided tours are available on request.
