Leivonmäki National Park

Leivonmäki National Park, located in Joutsa in the Central Finland Region, is one of Finland’s youngest national parks and a perfect place to explore the region’s diverse natural features. The park’s wilderness-like landscape includes peaceful mires, scenic shorelines, and beautiful esker forests.

The park was established in the former Haapasuo–Syysniemi nature reserve. Especially noteworthy protected areas include the Haapasuo Mire, which remains in its natural state, and the esker ridge that runs through the park, offering a glimpse into the geological history of the region. In a relatively compact area, Leivonmäki showcases a remarkable variety of natural landscapes.
