Lokalahti Church

Lokalahti Church is a wooden, towerless long church located in Lokalahti, Uusikaupunki, designed by Johan Höckert and completed in 1763. The church features a three-sided hipped chancel, and on the long sides, there are narrower and lower side annexes than the main structure. At the northern end is the sacristy, while at the southern end is the weapons room, with the entrance on the west side through the weapons room. The church hall has a single nave, and the interior ceiling is a wooden barrel vault, beneath which is an older wooden ceiling. The church has a floor area of 280 square meters and seating for 400 people. The church was renovated between 1859-1869 according to plans by Georg Theodor Chiewitz, and again in 1894 and 1925. It was restored under the direction of Totti Sora in the 1950s.
