The museum was inaugurated in 1988. The first floor of the main building exhibits the activities of the Lotta Svärd Organization. The same floor also houses the office of the Civil Guard District. On the second floor, there are, among others, a lotta canteen and an office and exhibition presenting the activities of Jaeger Colonel Matti Laurila, as well as an exhibition on the activities of the Civil Guards. Furthermore, the courtyard building provides information about the sports and leisure activities of the Civil Guards.
