Pudasjärvi Local History Museum
The museum of local history and culture is located near by the church. This museum is one of the largest museums in the Northern Finland.
The collection of articles is very exstensive (over 7000 objects) and there are 17 different buildings on the museum area. For example you can visit a granary dating back to year 1859, the granary has also a collection of articles. You can also find a hou se (Niemelä) from the 18th century which has had a chimneyless hut with a vent in the roof to let out smoke.
A forestry museum, a windmill, a drying barn and many outbuildings are also located in the area. The area is about 3 hectare of size.
