Sarka, the Finnish Museum of Agriculture
Sarka, the Finnish Museum of Agriculture is a great family destination in Loimaa, about five kilometres from the town centre along Road 9 towards Turku.
Visitors can learn about agricultural artefacts and traditions and get a real feel for what life in an agrarian society was like. You can try your hand at machine milking with the tin cow Pellikki, and the children’s toboggan hill is open all year round.
A model illustrating the development of the imaginary village of Sarkajoki from the Bronze Age to the 21st century welcomes you to the museum. The permanent exhibition provides insight into what work on field and in the forest was like and the history of great estates passed down through generations.
The Café-Restaurant offers real country cooking and the museum shop Muurikki has a great selection of souvenirs.
