The Headquarters Museum
Experience the Headquarters Museum and the War and Peace Center Muisti in one go and with the same ticket.
The Headquarters of the Finnish Army operated in Mikkeli and its surroundings during the last wars in 1939-1940 and 1941-1944. The top management of the army was assigned to work at Mikkeli Central National School. The headquarters museum now operates on the premises.
The basic exhibition of the Headquarters Museum tells about the operations of the Headquarters and the conduct of the war on both a military and political level. In addition, Mannerheim’s office and the Operational Department’s Land Force Office in their wartime costumes can be seen in the museum.
The headquarters museum has merged to become part of the War and Peace Center Muistia on June 4, 2021. The Headquarters Museum and Muisti form a unified whole, whose exhibitions deal with the themes of war and peace and war as a phenomenon.
The headquarters museum’s customer service has been transferred to the management of Muisti, and the website www.mueti.org provides admission ticket prices and opening hours. Group bookings are made at: https://kauppa.muisti.org/ryhmavaraukset/
