Linnansaari National Park

Linnansaari National Park, located in the heart of the Finnish Lakeland between the towns of Savonlinna and Varkaus, is a haven of island wilderness and a top destination for nature lovers. It’s one of the best places to spot the rare Saimaa ringed seal and majestic ospreys in their natural habitat.

The landscape is a stunning mosaic of sheltered island labyrinths and wide-open lake vistas. The park consists of over 130 larger islands and hundreds of smaller islets and rocky outcrops, forming a rich and varied environment. You’ll find sharp contrasts in vegetation: rugged, lichen-covered shores give way to lush herb-rich forests, sunny meadows, and deciduous woodlands.
